Why is this landmark worth YOUR time??
The Highline is a landmark because it came from a historic freight line. Residents of New York City AND tourists should visit the Highline because it has history and is an amazing place to be.

Background Knowledge
- This site opened in 2009
- It runs from 13th street to 34th street on the west side of Manhattan
- James Corner Field Operations was the architect for this project
- The neighborhood it's in is Chelsea
- 1.45 miles long and 20-30 feet above roadway
- The A, C, and E trains are right near the 13th street entrance. The 1 trains is also fairly close to the 13th street entrance. The C and E train is near 23rd street, a few blocks away from the Highline.
- It will take about 12 minutes to drive to the Highline via 5th ave and W 43rd St. The NQR is also near the hotel.
